UPDATE: I just got a letter from the California Bar Association stating the following:
"The State Bar will be instituting disciplinary proceedings against Christpopher L. Persaud in State Bar Court that the state bar will warrant his disbarment."
Please file your own complaints against this man with the agencies listed below:
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
It looks like many people are having the same problems with Christopher Persaud. I paid him $2600 in November of 2009 and have had virtually no action on my file. The biggest problem with many of us seems that he has collected money for loan modifications in violation of California law (CA SB 94--look it up.) It was signed into law in October of 2009. This law states that no one may collect money prior to services for the purposes of negotiating loan modifications. If money is collected, it was supposed to have been refunded immediately. The California State's Attorney's Office has a website to help with filing complaints, I suggest everyone do the same. The site is: http://ag.ca.gov/loanmod/ Good luck everyone. Let's hope no one else falls victim to this man. Let's hope anyone considering his services visits the BBB before writing any check.
In response to this business's response to my complaint--I am wondering how they are justifying taking money in VIOLATION OF CALIFORNIA LAW!!!! In that respect, anyone who they have taken money from is a "victim." In regard to "extensively" working on my file--I have not heard from them in months. If that is their definition of "extensive," I think Mr. Persaud needs to go back to law school. He IS a fraud, taking money from people in violation of the law. He is still doing it from the looks of it. Stay away from this man's "extensive" services!!!

Nathan, it is very obvious that we worked extensively on your file. You know this just as well as we do, so please stop trying to claim otherwise. You did get an answer from the bank on your loan modification, so we worked your file through to completion. We are willing to honor our contract, of course, with regard to the refund, but calling yourself a "victim", or calling us a "fraud" is obviously inaccurate-As you well know.
